The TACC Mission

A focused team executing Global Reach in support of national goals and objectives

Overview

The TACC, a dynamic organization, is responsible for directing the global employment of air mobility forces in support of U.S. goals and objectives (VNC/VAFC).  This organization is at the heart of Virtual Air Mobility Command's Global Reach mission.

When the TACC brought together a diversity of functions, systems, and people, never before assembled in a single organization.  In June 1992 the Military Airlift Command (MAC) and Strategic Airlift Command (SAC) were inactivated, and REAL Air Mobility Command (AMC)  activated.  In the process, TACC integrated the airlift/tanker mission and associated cross-command support, and all multi-user allocation processes.  TACC is a total force organization with more than half of the mobility force in the Virtual Air National Guard and Virtual Air Force Reserve providing support globally.
