Cadet Training Phase One Welcome to the Virtual Air Force Command. The VAFC is structured quite differently than the majority of online squadrons that you may have encountered in the past. This group is dedicated to realism in our mission structure and execution. The majority of our missions are played in single player mode (due to web congestion in many areas) with the emphasis placed upon meeting mission objectives, and for those who wish to so so, online play is encoursaged as much as possible. Thus, you will normally find custom mission files for both single player and multiplayer mode. These objectives, met or otherwise, feed into the planning and execution of the next cycle directives for all of the Virtual Military Command. We are also integrated with the Virtual Military Command (VMC) - a group that simulates submarine, surface and special forces operations, so our campaigns are very interactive. Having said this though, our group is also comprised of guys that have other responsibilities and committments. We're not a hardcore group of guys that live and breathe in the virtual skys. We're simply a group of guys - older in age than most virtual air simmers out there - that enjoy flying and the companionship of our fellow virtual officers. With that also comes a certain level of maturity. We maintain and follow a Chain of Command (COC), but this is done purely to organize and get things done. Interaction between our members is informal for the most part and is social every bit as much as business. We all have, or at least most of us do I assume, a boss out there in the real world that we must accomodate. Our time here is about having fun and enjoying ourselves. That is our number one rule here, and if we're/you're not having fun and enjoying your experience here, then something wrong! General Charles Burgess (Virtual Military Command, Joint Command Staff, Chief of Staff Air Force) This Phase will estable your communication or "comms" channels. This is very important as an Officer in VAFC since your ability to accomplish your mission is only as good as the information that you have. Being in touch with the rest of your CoC and with others in VAFC and VMC as a whole, will establish the Espirit de Corps that is vital to any military organization. You will also study some basic VMC/VAFC terms and information.
